Grooming
Professional Pet Grooming in Dubai.
Professional grooming is not a luxury, it is an essential part of your pet’s health and hygiene. Regular grooming prevents matting, reduces shedding, catches early skin or coat problems, and keeps nails, ears, and eyes clean. At Paw Sisters, our in-clinic grooming service is performed by trained groomers using veterinary-grade products, in a calm and supervised environment.

Grooming as part of your pet’s health
Grooming is often thought of as tidying up appearance, but its real value is in health and comfort. A matted coat pulls painfully on the skin and traps moisture and dirt against it, overgrown nails change the way a pet stands and walks, and dirty ears invite infection. Regular, careful grooming keeps all of this in check and keeps your pet comfortable day to day.
Because a groomer handles your pet all over, grooming is also an early-warning system. Lumps, scabs, hot spots, ear discharge, sore paws, and parasites are frequently first noticed on the grooming table. At Paw Sisters, with a vet on site, anything unusual can be flagged straight away rather than waiting for a separate appointment.
Our all-inclusive grooming package
Every grooming session is a carefully managed comfort experience for your pet, carried out by trained groomers in our purpose-built in-clinic grooming suite. We use species-appropriate products and breed-specific techniques to leave your pet looking, smelling, and feeling their best:
- Professional bath and dry: pH-balanced shampoos and conditioners matched to your pet’s coat type and skin condition, then a safe-temperature blow-dry and brush-out before styling
- Haircut and styling: professional, breed-appropriate haircuts, or a fresh new look if you prefer a change
- Nail trimming and paw care: nails trimmed to the right length for a steady, pain-free gait and comfortable walking
- Ear and eye cleaning: gentle removal of secretions using products designed for these delicate areas, limiting harmful bacteria buildup
- De-shedding and coat conditioning: loose hair removed and the coat conditioned to prevent tangles, matting, and parasite buildup
- Tick and flea check: a thorough coat check for external parasites during every session, so problems are caught early before they spread
Safe, professional products and equipment
Every product we use is specifically formulated for dogs or cats, never human cosmetics or generic products. Our grooming tools are cleaned and sanitised between every appointment. For pets with known skin sensitivities or allergies, please let us know when booking so we can select the most suitable products in advance.
Your grooming experience in four steps
Your appointment follows a clear, organised process designed to keep your pet calm and comfortable from start to finish:
- Setup and consultation: we welcome you and your pet, take a brief history of any coat or skin concerns, discuss your preferred style, and settle your pet into our grooming suite, with extra time for first-time or anxious visits
- Basic prep: gentle brushing and detangling, a check of the eyes and ears for any discharge, and settling your pet comfortably before bathing begins
- Bathing and styling: a full bath with professional products, a thorough blow-dry, then a breed-appropriate and season-appropriate trim, from breed-standard cuts to practical low-maintenance styles
- Final touches and cleanup: a thorough brush-out, removal of any stray hair, a light spritz of pet-safe fragrance, and a final inspection from nose to paw
Coat types and breeds in the Dubai climate
Different coats need different care, and the Dubai climate shapes what works best. Double-coated breeds such as Huskies, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers should never be shaved down, as their undercoat actually insulates against heat and protects the skin from the sun. The right approach is thorough de-shedding to remove the dead undercoat so air can move through the coat and keep the pet cooler.
Long-haired cats and dogs are prone to matting in the heat, especially where the coat is dense, so they benefit from more frequent brushing and grooming. Short-coated breeds need less styling but still shed and benefit from regular baths and nail care. During our consultation we recommend a schedule and style suited to your pet’s specific coat and how they live, rather than a one-size-fits-all cut.
Keeping your pet groomed between visits
A little regular care at home keeps your pet comfortable between professional sessions and makes each appointment easier.
- Brush regularly: frequent brushing, especially for long or double coats, prevents mats forming and reduces loose hair around the home
- Check paws and nails: listen for nails clicking on hard floors and check pads for grass seeds, cracks, or dryness
- Watch ears and eyes: wipe away light discharge and mention any redness, odour, or head-shaking to the team
- Keep to a schedule: booking sessions at regular intervals suited to the coat type stops small issues turning into painful mats or infections
Why choose Paw Sisters for pet grooming in Dubai
The difference at Paw Sisters is that grooming takes place inside a veterinary clinic in Al Garhoud, with a vet on site throughout. If a groomer finds a lump, a skin problem, an ear infection, or a parasite, it can be assessed the same day, and pets with sensitive skin or allergies can be groomed with the most suitable products chosen in advance. It is a safer setting for older, anxious, or medically fragile pets than a standalone salon.
Every product is formulated specifically for dogs or cats, never human cosmetics, and tools are cleaned and sanitised between appointments. Our fear-free approach gives first-time and nervous pets extra settling time, and our English and Arabic speaking team is transparent about what each session involves before it begins. We are open seven days a week, with later hours at weekends, and offer free on-site parking for easy drop-off and collection.
Good to know
Questions, answered.
Is professional grooming really necessary for my pet?
Grooming is part of health and hygiene, not just appearance. Regular sessions prevent matting, reduce shedding, keep nails, ears, and eyes clean, and often catch early skin or coat problems. In the Dubai climate a well-maintained coat also stays more comfortable. Paw Sisters grooming is performed in-clinic by trained groomers using veterinary-grade products in a calm, supervised setting.
What is included in a grooming session at Paw Sisters?
Each session includes a bath and blow-dry with pH-balanced products matched to the coat, a breed-appropriate haircut and styling, nail trimming and paw care, and gentle ear and eye cleaning. It also covers de-shedding and coat conditioning plus a tick and flea check. You can book a session at the Al Garhoud clinic.
Can you groom a pet with sensitive skin or allergies?
Yes. Every product used is formulated specifically for dogs or cats, never human cosmetics, and tools are cleaned and sanitised between every appointment. For pets with known skin sensitivities or allergies, tell the team when arranging the visit so the most suitable products can be selected in advance. First-time or anxious pets are also given extra settling time.
Should I shave my double-coated dog for the Dubai summer?
No. Double-coated breeds such as Huskies, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers should not be shaved down, because the undercoat insulates against heat and protects the skin from the sun. Shaving can leave the skin exposed and disrupt how the coat regrows. The better approach in the Dubai heat is thorough de-shedding to remove the dead undercoat, which lets air flow through the coat and helps the dog stay cooler.
How often should I have my pet groomed?
It depends on the coat. Long-haired and double-coated pets usually need more frequent sessions to prevent matting, which is common in the Dubai heat, while short-coated pets need less styling but still benefit from regular baths and nail care. During your first visit the team recommends a schedule suited to your pet’s coat type and lifestyle, and keeping to it stops small issues turning into painful mats.
Why groom at a vet clinic rather than a salon?
Grooming at Paw Sisters takes place inside a veterinary clinic with a vet on site, so if a groomer finds a lump, skin problem, ear infection, or parasite, it can be assessed the same day. It is also a safer setting for older, anxious, or medically fragile pets. Combined with veterinary-grade products and sanitised equipment, this makes grooming part of your pet’s overall health care.
